The Cleveland Cavaliers have made NBA history, becoming the second team in the past 20 years to start the season 10-0. The Cavs secured their 10th consecutive win on Friday night with a dominant 136-117 victory over the Golden State Warriors at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
Cavs Dominate Early
Cleveland set the tone early, jumping out to a 20-2 lead to start the game, leaving the Warriors with little chance to mount a comeback. The Cavaliers ended the first quarter with a commanding 39-22 lead and extended it further in the second, reaching a franchise-record 83 points by halftime. Cleveland shot an impressive 65% from the field in the first half and 64% from three-point range, hitting 14 of 22 attempts.
Strong Performances Across the Board
Darius Garland led the charge for Cleveland with 27 points, shooting 6-for-10 from three-point range, and added six assists. Evan Mobley followed with 23 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two blocks, continuing his strong early-season form. Off the bench, Ty Jerome contributed 20 points, hitting all three of his three-point attempts, while Isaac Okoro added 16 points, shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc.
Warriors’ Second-Half Push Not Enough
Golden State fought back in the second half, outscoring Cleveland 75-53, but the deficit from the first half was too large to overcome. Jonathan Kuminga led the Warriors with 21 points, while Brandin Podziemski added 14. Stephen Curry, who had been a dominant force for the Warriors this season, was held to just 12 points, his lowest total of the season.
Cavs Stand Alone as Last Undefeated Team
With the win, the Cavaliers remain the NBA’s only undefeated team, following the Oklahoma City Thunder's first loss of the season earlier in the week. Cleveland’s hot start has made them one of the most exciting teams in the league, and many are now wondering if they can continue this level of play throughout the rest of the season.
The Cavs’ dominant performance against the Warriors showcased their offensive depth and efficiency, with multiple players stepping up to contribute. As the season progresses, the pressure will increase to maintain this undefeated streak, but Cleveland’s strong start has firmly placed them in the conversation as one of the top teams in the NBA.
Looking Ahead
The Cleveland Cavaliers are proving to be a serious contender in the Eastern Conference, and with their 10-0 start, they have quickly become one of the most talked-about teams in the league. Fans will be closely watching to see how long this undefeated streak lasts and whether the Cavs can keep up this level of play as they look toward a potential playoff run.
